1. Who we are
MaeWest Software ("MaeWest", "we", "us") publishes desktop and connected software for oil terminal operators, marine surveyors, and independent inspection consultants. This site is maewestsoftware.com.
2. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using any MaeWest software or by using this website you agree to these Terms of Service, the End-User Licence Agreement, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not download or use the software.
3. Merchant of record
Paid MaeWest licences are sold through Paddle.com Market Limited as our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, tax, invoicing, chargebacks, and refunds on our behalf. Your purchase contract for the transaction is with Paddle; your licence-use contract for the software is with MaeWest under the EULA.
4. Licences
MaeWest software is licensed, not sold. Desktop tiers are supplied under a perpetual licence including 12 months of bug-fix updates. Office and Enterprise tiers are supplied under an annual subscription. Field client installs are provisioned by the customer's Office administrator and remain bound to that Office deployment. Full licence terms are in the EULA.
5. Acceptable use
You will not reverse engineer, resell, sublicence, or attempt to defeat the licensing or audit-trail features of the software except to the extent applicable law permits. You will not use the software to falsify inspection, quantity, or QHSE records.
6. Support
Bug-fix updates and reasonable email support are included for the initial period stated on the product page. Priority response and named-contact support may be offered in Office and Enterprise tiers.
7. Availability of this website
We try to keep the site and download endpoints available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take the site offline for maintenance, security, or content updates without notice.
8. Third-party components
Installers may bundle third-party redistributables (for example the .NET Desktop Runtime, SQL Server Express, and WireGuard for Windows). Each is used under its own vendor licence, which will be presented or referenced during install.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MaeWest is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for operational decisions taken by users based on outputs produced by the software. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be signalled with a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers in other jurisdictions retain any mandatory local rights.
